Digital mammography is available at both Thomas Hospital and at Thomas Medical Center. The state-of-the-art machines provide a higher resolution image for more accurate diagnoses.
In digital mammography, specially designed digital detectors capture x-ray beams. The detectors then convert the x-ray beams into electronic signals that are sent to a computer. Radiologists review the digital mammograms on high-resolution computer monitor.
