Thomas Hospital Foundation is one of the many nonprofits participating in Alabama Gives Day on February 2. For 24 hours, donors can go online to contribute to the Foundation, which helps provide exceptional healthcare and finance state-of-the-art equipment at Thomas Hospital. 

Our mission

The Thomas Hospital Foundation raises funds to help provide exceptional healthcare and finance state-of-the-art equipment at Thomas Hospital. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $19 million through a variety of fundraising efforts including several gift-giving programs and such special events as the annual Thomas Hospital Foundation Golf Classic and the popular Grand Summer Ball.

Why we raise money

The Thomas Hospital Foundation was created in 1993 to accept and administer gifts on behalf of Thomas Hospital. The hospital developed this fundraising organization to finance the growing needs for expanded services. Four factors led to this decision:

• Reduced reimbursements for services;
• Rising costs of medical technology;
• Increased amount of indigent care;
• Rapidly growing population.

The Foundation is governed by the Thomas Hospital Board of Directors. All gifts made to the Foundation can be used only for expansions and improvements at Thomas Hospital.
