Giving to the Foundation

If you would like to help us provide state-of-the-art services and equipment at Thomas Hospital, please consider giving to one of several donor programs. We appreciate all gifts, no matter the amount.

Annual Giving

Friend of Thomas Hospital Foundation

This program allows individuals to make gifts of any size to support the Foundation’s efforts to ensure quality healthcare close to home.

Major Giving

Substantial donations made to the hospital through the Foundation or funds raised through capital campaigns greatly impact the lives of residents in Fairhope and surrounding communities.

Ives Society

Annual donations of $250 or more through this giving club are recognized by the Foundation in Best, a quarterly publication of Infirmary Health. Annual gifts of $1,000 to $9,999 are recognized for one year on the special donor wall in the East Tower lobby of Thomas Hospital. The names of donors who give $10,000 or more over their lifetime are permanently displayed on the Ives Society wall.

Planned Giving

Your gifts make a difference to Thomas Hospital and help us to meet the critical healthcare needs of our community. Your generous philanthropy can help support our mission through strategic estate planning.

  • Bequests. If you would like to remember Thomas Hospital in your will, our Foundation offers a number of options in planning estate gifts. You can direct bequests for a specific dollar amount; a percentage of estate value after your family and loved ones receive their shore; and even to a specific fund or project.

You can choose to give cash, stocks, real estate or other property. As the gift doesn't go into effect until after your lifetime, you can change provisions in your will at any time.
  • Life Insurance. You can choose to make Thomas Hospital Foundation the beneficiary of your life insurance. A modest annual premium keeps the policy in force and qualifies as an on-going charitable deduction.
  • Thomas Fund. Through this gift annuity program, donors make an irrevocable gift to the Foundation (cash, securities, real estate) and receive an income back for the remainder of their lives. The creation of an annuity trust provides for an immediate income tax charitable deduction. Upon the death of the donor, assets of the trust become the property of Thomas Hospital Foundation.

If you would like to pledge long-term support to Thomas Hospital through a gift in your will or other planned giving opportunities, we can help you in planning a gift that fits your current circumstances and charitable goals.
