Thomas Hospital Rehab Services’ Pediatric Program provides comprehensive care to children who require occupational, physical, and/or speech therapy.
In the program, children benefit from the latest treatment approaches including:
- Sensory integration
- Augmentative or alternative communication such as the use of picture communication symbols, speech-generated devices and sign language/gesture systems to supplement verbal communication
- Activities of daily living (ADL) training including dressing, feeding, hygiene and school-related activities
- Expressive language stimulation
- Social skills training
- Schedule training
- Behavior modification
Located in the Wellness Center at Thomas Hospital, the Pediatric Rehab Program offers an environment where occupational, physical, and speech therapists work together to guarantee each child is receiving exactly what he or she needs.
Our newly-renovated facility enables us to meet the unique needs of all our patients aging from newborns through adolescence, and allows parents to be an integral part of their child's therapy. Gyms and offices have viewing windows and headphone systems for parents to observe their child's therapy sessions, as well as full spectrum lighting to enhance learning needs of patients with visual perceptual problems and/or autism spectrum disorder. We also try to find the correct balance of challenge and play so your child can work toward their treatment objectives while having fun.
A physician's referral is the primary requirement for admission to this program.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our therapy department at 279-1640.
