Working with a registered nurse and registered dietitian, participants in the Diabetes Management Program learn to control their diabetes with healthy eating, regular exercise, and medication. The program is accredited by the American Diabetes Association.
A physician referral is required for Group classes and individual instructions for persons with pre-diabetes, and type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
The Diabetes Center offers Individual instructions and free literature for the following:
- Type 1 or 2 diabetes (ages 11 and under)
- Diabetes meal planning
- Insulin instructions
- Insulin pump instructions
- Gestational Diabetes
- Blood glucose monitoring
Monthly Diabetes Support Group Meetings
Meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Diabetes Center. Meetings are open to the public.
Diabetes Support Group Newsletter
The Diabetes Center offers a free publication announcing upcoming support group meetings, articles written by our diabetes educators regarding updates on diabetes management, research, and new products.
