AARP Mature Driving Course
Thomas Hospital joins AARP to offer a Mature Driving Course. AARP developed the eight-hour classroom refresher course to help drivers 50 years of age and older improve their skills and prevent traffic accidents.
The Mature Driving Course is designed to meet the specific needs of older drivers. It covers age-related physical changes, declining perceptual skills, rules of the road, local driving problems and license renewal requirements. The AARP recruits and trains the volunteer instructors who conduct the course, which is presented through a combination of visual aids and group discussion.
For the next course dates, please check the community calendar page of our website. Participants must attend both days.* The fee for the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Space is limited and reservations are required. This course is offered at Thomas Medical Center in Daphne. For more information, email infirmaryevents@infirmaryhealth.org or call the Thomas Hospital Public Relations Department at (251) 279-4008.
*Most auto insurance companies offer a discount for taking this course.
